2019 Reading Challenge: January

This Messy Magnificent Life A Field Guide by Geneen Roth

This little gem was conveniently on display on the side of a bookshelf at the library when I went to search for the first book of the new year. The title jumped out at me, as my life is often quite messy and occasionally magnificent, and I could definitely use a guide to maneuver me through it sometimes.

Seriously though as I opened it up and read the jacket I knew it was the perfect book to start my 2019 personal development journey. Here’s a little excerpt:

“This Messy Magnificent Life explores the personal beliefs, hidden traumas, and social pressures that shape not just women’s feelings about their bodies but also their confidence, choices, and relationships.”

“It’s about stopping the search to fix ourselves by realizing that on the other side of the “Me Project” is spaciousness, peace, and the capacity to reclaim one’s power and joy.”

Doesn’t that sound amazing so far? As I glanced at the first few pages of the introduction I knew this book was for me. So I will get started on reading this field guide to life and connect back once I’ve finished it. It’s not super long- around 200 pages so I can’t imagine it will take me all of January to read it, but then again between working and #momlife it just might!

Let me know in the comments if you will be reading it as well! Or if you’ve already read it and what you thought.
